Glossary

Short definitions of the terms used across WhatPro and this documentation.

A theme extension you enable in Shopify’s theme editor under App embeds. It loads WhatPro’s storefront features — the chat button, newsletter popup, and Checkout Gate. If a storefront feature isn’t appearing, the embed is usually off. See Troubleshooting.

A back-and-forth thread of messages with a single customer. In WhatsApp’s billing model, Meta charges per conversation rather than per message. WhatPro’s Team Inbox groups messages into conversations your team can reply to.

An automated WhatsApp message triggered by a Shopify event — for example, an abandoned-cart reminder, a cash-on-delivery confirmation, or a shipping update. You configure flows in WhatPro and they send on their own. See Flows overview.

A tag WhatPro adds to a Shopify order or customer to record what happened over WhatsApp — which flow touched an order, or whether a chat was opened or closed. Lifecycle tags let you filter, segment, and automate inside Shopify. See Order tags.

Shopify hosts and charges for WhatPro’s subscription. WhatPro reads your current plan from Shopify and enforces the matching limits and features, but never charges you directly — pricing and billing live on Shopify’s hosted page. See Plans.

When a customer stops receiving marketing, typically by replying STOP to a campaign. The opt-out applies to all marketing for your store and excludes the customer from every future campaign. See Opt-outs.

A one-time passcode sent to a customer’s phone to verify the number. WhatPro uses OTPs in the Checkout Gate to confirm a real, reachable WhatsApp number before an order is placed.

A group of customers defined in Shopify (under Customers → Segments). WhatPro uses a Shopify customer segment as a campaign’s audience, then narrows it to the customers eligible to receive a WhatsApp broadcast. See Audiences.

A pre-formatted message structure registered with and approved by Meta. WhatsApp requires business-initiated messages to use an approved template. A flow or campaign can’t send until its template is approved. See Templates & approval.
