Introduction
WhatPro is a Shopify app that automates customer messaging over WhatsApp — order confirmations, abandoned-cart recovery, shipping updates, phone verification at checkout, marketing broadcasts, and a shared team inbox. It runs inside Shopify Admin and sends through your own official WhatsApp Business number.
How it fits together
Section titled “How it fits together”WhatPro sits between three systems:
- Shopify — the source of store events (orders, checkouts, fulfilments) and where you manage the app.
- The WhatsApp Business Platform (Meta) — the channel that actually delivers messages to your customers. You connect your own WhatsApp Business Account and pay Meta directly, at cost. WhatPro adds no per-message markup.
- WhatPro — the automation layer: it listens to Shopify events, decides which message to send (in the customer’s language where supported), and sends it through Meta using an approved message template.
What you can build
Section titled “What you can build”- Flows — automations triggered by store events: COD confirmation, abandoned cart, paid-order confirmation, shipping updates, back-in-stock, review requests, and more. See Automations (Flows).
- Checkout Gate (OTP) — require a verified phone number before checkout to reduce fake orders. See Checkout Gate.
- Chat Button — a floating WhatsApp button on your storefront. See Chat Button.
- Newsletter — a storefront popup that collects WhatsApp subscribers. See Newsletter.
- Campaigns — bulk WhatsApp broadcasts to customer segments. See Campaigns.
- Team Inbox — reply to customer messages from inside Shopify Admin.
The path to going live
Section titled “The path to going live”Setting up WhatPro is a short, ordered checklist. Each step has its own page:
- Install WhatPro
- Connect the WhatsApp API
- Add a payment method in Meta — required before Meta delivers any message.
- Require a phone number at checkout — so every order arrives with a number to message.
- Choose a plan
Once those are done, create your first flow and your store starts messaging customers automatically.
